As a kid, my father used to tell me stories about when he was a kid, and of his sibblings. To me this was alway fun to hear. As i started growing up he would tell me stories about My uncle and how he served in WWII. Facinating to always hear about. My father would always tell me about during WWII, That my uncle Steve was an Army Paratrooper, who faught in the "BATTLE OF THE BULDGE" in the Ardens Forest, Were he was K.I.A.
I remember at one point my father telling me a story about how, when my father was old enough to join the service, he wanted to be like his big brother "Stevie" and join the army. When my father went to sign up, he got into the line for the army, and for what ever reason they pulled him out of that line and said "what do you think your doing boy?" my father replied, "I am joining the army sir." and they told him "no son your not! you are going in to the marines". ha ha, I always found that storie pritty funny, he idolized his big brother, and thought if his big brother stevie could be in the army, so could he.
This is my Journey into the past of a man and hero, that I never met, nor ever known. but have only heard stories of. I only started with stories, and as I continue my journey into the past, I only hope to find more. Not only to find missing pieces of what i call a puzzle to the past forgotten, but i hope to find stories and information of the people and soldiers my uncle served with.
